Daicon 2009 Day 1

Not too long after Animangaki and there is another ACG event in Malaysia =). Went to Daicon over the weekend and the event is also a 2 day event similar to Animangaki. Admission is free which is a good thing ^^ . I guess it attracts more people to come over.

Daicon is oraganised by Emina Cyberjaya of Multimedia University. The event took place over at none other than MMU located in Cyberjaya. The venue was in some hall in the MMU campus. The campus is kinda big I must say. Had to drive quite around to actually reach the hall. This is the first time that Daicon is being held.

This was how the stage area looks like in the hall. The hall is really big compared to all of the ones that I have been to before this.

Here we have the J-pop exhibiton corner. Their J-pop booth is literally a booth with Johnny's Entertainment filled goods and merchandise only ^^;.

KKnM from Singapore had a booth set up too.

...And the queue seemed to stretch on through out the event.

Weiss Schwarz trading cards. They had a booth set up with all stuf relatd to the trading card game.

Rock band! There was another one somewhere else in the hall too.

Other stuff that happened on that day included cosplay competition. Not all cosplayers took part though.

Moving on, there were the doujin booths around the hall.

Comic Fiesta booth promoting their event and giving out T-shirts. GACC were promoting their event too.

Then, there's the karaoke/singing competition too. Most of the contestants' voices were not that pleasing to the ear since they whole hall is fitted with the speakers so its projected out everywhere. No offense though. Some of them are good, maybe like 1 or 2.

Okay, besides the other stuff that went on, there's the questions and answers session + autograph session with seiyuu (voice actress)/singer Chihara Minori. The crowd was anxious for her arrival.

This section onwards will be pictar spam of Chihara Minori xD. Some of the pictures' quality are not that good since my seat was far away and the lighting in the hall/stage area isn't the best that you would expect. Forgive me for that OTL.

Oh, and if you were wondering why I don't have any pics of her during the autograph session is because of certain rule/policies. I think it has to do with the Japanese entertainment policy where they do not allow people to take pictures of the artists during concerts, etc. Don't know why they have such ruling but the official photographers are the only ones allowed to take pictures during the autograph session and concert.
